How do I adopt a Norwegian Forest kitten?

Please note that we are not a rescue group, we breed and sell pedigree Norwegian Forest Cats.
Our kittens start at $2000.
We will try and match each potential adopter/buyer with the right kitten, based on the adopter's/buyer's preference and household environment (children, other pets, etc.). A non-refundable deposit of $300 is required to hold/reserve the kitten and is part of the total price. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to Contact us!

*Breeders with inquiries for breeding stock should reach out directly via email. We will only consider selling kittens as breeding stock to established breeders/catteries that are active members of a recognized feline registry. Kittens to be sold as breeding stock will be subject to genetic testing prior to sale. Kittens to be sold as breeding stock will be subject to an additional sale fee.

MossPaws reserves the right to decline an adoption/sale at any point in the adoption/sale process. If the kitten has already been paid for in full, they will be refunded the full amount (including the deposit) if the adoption is declined by MossPaws.

Step 1

If you are interested in adopting a kitten from us, please review our Sales Contract & Health Guarantee, and submit an Application.

Step 2

We make an effort to respond to all applicants. If you have not heard back from us about your application within two weeks, feel free to contact us to inquire about the status of your application. Once we have had the opportunity to review your application, we will reach out to you to let you know if we would like to move forward with the adoption/sale process and will ask any follow up questions at this time. Your timely response is required in order to move forward with this process, we will send a follow up if we have not heard back from you. If we do not have any kittens available that would be a good fit, or if you prefer, you can be added to our waitlist for a kitten from a future litter.

Step 3

Once both parties have decided to move forward with the sale of a specific kitten, a $300 deposit will be required to reserve the kitten, until the rest of the adoption/sale process has been finalized. The deposit will be a part of the total price of the kitten NOT in addition. We accept Venmo or Paypal.

Step 4

At this stage, we will send over our Sales Contract & Health Guarantee for signature(s). We use a third-party company for our spay/neuter agreement, and will send this contract over for signature as well.

We use a company called SpaySecure to protect your kitten's health. SpaySecure uses binding contracts to ensure cat sterilization at a healthy age. They'll follow up with you to provide advice and reminders, ensuring your kitten's sterilization. Please visit their website for more information.

Step 5

Once both documents have been signed and received, the remaining balance will be due. If paying with Venmo or PayPal, payment will be due at least two weeks prior to pickup. If paying the final balance with cash or cashier's check, payment on pickup is available (only if picking up from our home, no offsite payments).

Step 6 - Pickup time!

Please note that the adopter/buyer is responsible for transportation of the kitten. If flying with the kitten, we would greatly prefer that they fly in the cabin with you. Our kittens are ready to go home between 14-16 weeks old, after they have finished receiving their vaccines. Your kitten will go home having received all of their core vaccines (three rounds of FVRCP and Rabies) and a microchip. They will also have a go-home bag containing their medical records, some toys, some treats, the food they are used to, and litter they are used to.

Of course, we would like to see pictures of your kitten in their new home!
